Plot Summary of the Film:
When Sophie (Amanda Seyfried), a young American, on vacation in Verona, Italy, the romantic city and the home of the famous Romeo and Juliet, she meets a group of volunteers who respond to letters written to Juliet seeking passionate guidance.
After answering one letter dated 1951 and has been lost for 50 years, she inspires its author Claire (Vanessa Redgrave) to travel to Italy in search of her long-lost love, who arrives in Italy with her handsome but overprotective grandson (Christopher Egan). Captivated by Claire’s pursuit, Sophie joins them on an adventure through the beautiful hills of Tuscany searching for Claire's fiancé where in she left decades before. The voyage will change their lives forever, as they discover that there’s always a second chance and it’s never too late to find true love.
